Proof Reading?

I just paid for my very first comprehensive edit! I braced myself for the painful criticism and damage to my story . . . but received none! Sure, there was a lot of changes to make, my grammar is TERRIBLE and I never know when to use punctuation or commas. But overall, it was a positive experience!

     My editor was very nice and understanding, she tried her best to make suggestions without changing the voice of my story, which I appreciated. She made clear what elements in my story made no sense, and what I could do to fix that. They were all very good points I had not considered before.

     I have learned that you really, really can't skip the editing process if you want a story that's worth publishing. I might even get another proof-reading. <3
